Hepatic target lesions

  • Hepatic metastasis usually have a target appearance with an echogenic or isoechoic center and a hypoechoic halo
    • Thin halos represent dilated peritumoral sinusoids or compressed liver parenchyma
    • Thick halos represent proliferating tumor

Target lesions are much more likely to be malignant than benign
