Ground glass can be called on CXR per Fleischner society guidelines
Make sure to rule out ground glass mimics before
Expiratory CT can look like ground glass
Clues that CT was taken during expiration:
Diffuse implies that distribution is uniform
Extensive does not
Avoid using airspace or interstitial as this creates false delineations when in reality ground glass usually affects both
In general as well (not just in regards to ground glass) do not use the word infiltrate— use consolidation or whatever else you want to say that is more descriptive of the actual pathology
