Nonossifying fibroma
- Spontaneously regresses
- AKA "fibrous cortical defect"
- Though some will call fibrous cortical defect as <2 and NOF as >2 cm
- Do not touch lesion
- Classic appearance is thin, sclerotic border that is scalloped and slightly expansile
- They routine "heal" with sclerosis and disappear
- Don't mistake "cortical disruption" for simply cortex being replaced with benign fibrous tissue
- Can look hot on PET during "healing" phase d/t osteoblast activity
Discriminators
- Must be under age 30
- No periostitis for pain
